As part of the rails3 effort I will need to make Noosfero use the asset
pipeline.

Even though I understand the use case, I would prefer that this is not
merged because the solution with the asset pipeline in place will be
completely different (and probably a lot cleaner than the proposed
patch).

There is also an upgrade path issue with the proposed patch which I
commented on gitlab.
