I understand your motivation, but I ask for you review this decision

Here in Serpro sometimes we don't have conditions to help with the frozeen
period and we use the next branch to make our contribution to the community
in this period and avoid make a big unmaintainable fork.

Of course we could do this locally but I think it's not sustainable too.
