This is a very strong piece of code to be here on the api helper. There are also other parts of Noosfero code where the types are hardcoded because of this lazy loading behaviour of Rails. I agree that using this eager_load is actually a good idea, but it's a change that must go through the community first and also should be done in a better place (like config/application.rb for example).
