I prefer cryo damage. Cryo just seems a lot more... *fun*.

I don't like slag, because you always  had to swap weapons  to get it to work. Meanwhile, the slagged enemy is still trying to  kill you. 

Cryo locks down the enemy, making  it more  useful for crowd control. Hit a group of enemies with a Vladof Cryo grenade and some of them get stuck, allowing you to focus  on others or  to get some  free hits on them.
