hmm, but anyway the extension must be part of the schema and also the migration, other both would be incomplete... btw, there was already an extension at https://github.com/noosfero/noosfero/blob/master/db/schema.rb#L17

the migration for instance would fail on the extension line instead on the add_column part.

still don't see why it must only be done manually and not be inside the code. not sure but it might be the case that many noosfero users are superuser, but maybe not the one created by the debian package?
